Faculty Higher Secondary School hosts a three-day MUN CONFERENCE 2019 Independence Day Edition from 15th to 17th August 2019.
The Day 1 Event (15:08:19) got under way by hoisting the National Flag and singing the National Anthem commemorating the 73rd Independence Day. The opening ceremony of the conference was graced by the Chief Guest Dr. Nani Gopal Mahanta, the Registrar of Gauhati University and Head of Department of Political Science and the esteemed Guest of Honour Dr Ashwini Sarma, the Secretary General of United Nations Association of Assam.
Firstly, the auspicious lamp was lit in a traditional way by the invited dignitaries and the Principal of the School. Then the guests were felicitated by the Organising Committee. The Director of Academics of the school delivered a wonderful speech befitting the occasion. Next a troupe of dancers performed to the tunes of devotional and patriotic songs. This was followed by speeches of the Chief Guest and the Guest of Honour. Honourable Dr Nani Gopal Mahanta verbalized a very enthusiastic and motivating speech whereas the Guest Of Honour, Dr Ashwini Sarma appreciated the initiatives taken up by the organizing committee of the school. Thereafter, the Executive Board members of respective committees were felicitated and the Secretary General of FHSS MUN 2019 with his invigorating words declared MUN 2019 open..
