Faculty Higher Secondary School, North Guwahati is undoubtedly one of the top-ranking schools in the field of science since 1990. Science has come to be regarded as one of the most powerful and cautious instruments of growth and development, especially in the evolving scenario and competitive economy. In the wake of the recent developments and the new demands that are being placed on the S & T system, it is important for us to embark on some major motives which have relevance to stand before the students as national needs and which will also be relevant for tomorrow's generation. The Department of Science of FHSS plays a pivotal role in promotion of science in this venerated institution. The school endeavours to impart education on fundamentals of science so that students can well appreciate the intricacies of day to day problems. The science department of this established institution offers ample and polite opportunity for the beneficial of the students in every respect of learning point so that they can approach to their respective subject teachers showing various problems and interest related to their concerned subject matters. Every year the school gets an excellent result because of the zealous affords of the teachers and the students as well. The teachers are really co-operative and industrious. Apart from these distinct points, the science department is well-equipped and orientated by impressive, various modern and up-to-date apparatus in order to keep a severe all round development of the students. Today FHSS is providing a base platform for those who want to get involved in higher studies and to get some good results in future.

Subjects offered in this stream are Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Biology, Computer Science and Physical education with English as a compulsory subject. Subject wise very well equipped laboratories are treasures of the science stream, where students are trained to hone their scientific treatment in the most practical manner. Digital Classes are held regularly. The stream can proudly declare to be a very student - friendly department where every teacher extends personal guidance to every kid. Remedial and tutorial classes have also been started to external extra care, academic support and guidance to the students to be able to face the competitive examination along with the board examination
