The Osom Educational Trust, under which aegis the Faculty H.S. School is set up and functions and Fg. Officer Simon Kachari Memorial Trust extend the following major awards each year :
SIMON KACHARI AWARD
The Simon Kachari Memorial Award in memory of Simon Kachari, an ex-student of the school who died while flying a MIG Jet at the call of duty for his motherland in the year 1996 Simons spirit of adventure, attainment of excellence whatever he performed, his integrity and humility are still talked about by his teachers and friends. The family members of late Simon give a memorial award of rupees 5000/- and a citation every year to the best all round student of the school through a Trust called The Flying Officer Simon Kachari Memorial Trust. The objective of the Trust is to encourage and foster amongst us the spirit of Adventure, competitive spirit, attainment of excellence in ones performance, dignity of man and integrity of the individual.
K.P. BOROOAH MEMORIAL AWARD
K.P. Borooah Memorial Award is in memory of Late Krishna Prasad Borooah, who was a Trustee of the Osom Educational Trust and the School, till his death in the year 1993. In recognition of his selfless service for the Trust in a very difficult period of growth of the school, the Osom Educational Trust has instituted this Award from the academic session 2003 -04 in his memory and this will be given to the topper in aggregate amongst Arts, Sci & Commerce stream in the Senior Secondary Examination of the CBSE Board. Late K.P. Borooah also had a very distinguished career as a banker and as a social worker he touched the hearts of many people with his genuine concern, guidance and personal help. The K.P. Borooah Memorial Award consists of a cash prize of Rs. 10,000/- and a citation.
SEEMANTA CHOUDHARY MEMORIAL AWARD
The Seemanta Choudhary Memorial Award in memory of Seemanta an ex-facultian. He joined Faculty School in 1988 as a young student in class 4 and passed out in 1996 after completing his secondary level of education. But his promising future was cut short by a tragic road accident on 14th October 2000. His parents have now instituted the Seemanta Choudhary Memorial Award in his fond memory and this award is given to the best all round student of the school of Class X of each year and consists of as cash prize of Rs. 5000/- and a citation.
